These presents witness, that we the subscribers, as neighbours and friends, do mutually agree to the following articles, viz : I. That in case it should please Almighty God to permit the breaking out of fire in Boston, where we dwell, we will be helpful to each other in extinguishing fire, or in saving and taking care of each others goods or estate.

General noteSigned by George Holmes and eighteen others.
General noteDated [1724] by Bristol and Ford. However, since most of the subscribers were born between 1700 and 1710, married between 1734 and 1738, and two died in 1751, the broadside was probably printed between 1738 and 1750. Printer's ornaments (Reilly 361, 595, 684, and 777) are among those often used at that time by John Draper, also one of the subscribers.
